Matthew Anders

Senior Pastor

Matthew was born and raised in northern California. His parents were devoted to Christ and so he never really knew anything other than a life centered around the Church. Through his parents’ faithfulness to Christ as well as their consistent witness to him, Matthew came to trust Jesus Christ for salvation early in life and has since had a desire to serve the Lord in full time ministry. In 2007, he and his wife, Sheila, came to Landmark for him to serve as an Assistant/Youth Pastor. In 2011, he became the Senior Pastor and since then has found deep joy in teaching and leading the people of God here at Landmark. It is one of the greatest joys of his life to see the people of God walk in His truth and be more conformed into His image. The Lord has blessed Matthew and Sheila with five children whom he loves playing with and supporting in all their activities. When he isn’t chasing the kids around, he likes to read or stay active by playing pickleball with Sheila.

Alan O'brien

Associate Pastor

Alan (along with his dear wife Amy) came to Landmark in 2008 to serve as our Business Manager for the church and school. Over the years, Alan was able to grow into additional ministry oversight and had more and more opportunities to serve the church in a pastoral function. In 2016, Alan was ordained into gospel ministry and became a pastor at Landmark. Alan and Amy now have four wonderful children and Landmark is their home and family. Alan desires to serve the Lord Jesus and to love, lead, teach, and care for the body here at Landmark.

Angus Nicolson

Lay Pastor

Angus has attended Landmark since 2004 when he moved from his native Scotland to Louisville (a move prompted by love for his wife, Cheri, with whom he has two wonderful kids). While his day job is in technology for a local IT support firm, he has been involved in various ministries at the church since he joined, including children’s ministries, adult Bible classes and serving as a deacon. He loves the church, in particular the body at Landmark God has placed him in, and in January 2022 he joined the ministry team as a lay elder. Angus looks forward enthusiastically to continuing to walk and serve God alongside his church family, seeking to know Christ and make Him known.

Monte ashworth

Worship Leader

As a junior in high school, Monte decided to become a Christian school teacher and administrator because he wanted to influence young people for Christ. When he came to serve as the Administrator of Landmark Christian Academy in 2007, he also became the music director of Landmark Baptist Church. He loves to use music to remind people of the majesty of our God and to lead them to worship and magnify His greatness. Monte has been married to Angie for over 30 years. She serves at LCA and also in our LBC ladies’ ministries, and they teach a class together on biblical marriage. They have two married children and six grandchildren.
